One of AAPA's two annual membership meetings, the Spring Conference is held each year in Washington, DC, and features general sessions as well as committee and board meetings. Sessions focus on current trends in the maritime industry of relevance to all Western Hemisphere ports and US policy issues.

Establishing and maintaining institutional credibility is critical for public ports to achieve support for their missions and projects. Led by the team that co-teaches the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management course “Principled Political Leadership,” this session will examine ethics and accountability in the public sector and how to maintain social capital at a historic lowpoint of trust for institutions.
