What: Federal Assistance Domestic Preference Requirements Listening Session
Hosted by the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) in conjunction with the Maritime Administration (MARAD), the purpose of this Interactive Listening Session is to raise awareness of domestic preference requirements (Buy America and Buy American) for federal assistance projects.
The session will allow for the solicitation of comments and feedback from U.S. port industry stakeholders and manufacturers about domestic preference requirements and highlight best practices that can minimize project management implications associated from these requirements.
The session will also provide an opportunity for U.S. manufacturers, who may have the capabilities to produce needed equipment, to become aware of the growing market for domestically-produced materials needed in federal grant awards at ports.
Perspectives will be provided from:
• Ports;
• U.S. manufacturers;
• MARAD; and
• Robust Q&A with other stakeholders/industry members.
